How to make the viral TikTok 2 Ingredient Oreo Mug Cake and a review… Does it taste good?!
Stephanie updated this page on September 5, 2020
I am on a mug cake binge. To cap off the evening, I make mug cakes each day. Is it wrong for me to have cake every day? It might be wrong, but it feels right, especially when it is Oreo mug cakes!
Please give me all the Oreos. They are my only true weakness in store-bought cookies. The combination of dark chocolate cookies and creamy centers is what I love. I love all the seasonal varieties.
We almost always have an Oreos package in our pantry unless we’ve eaten them. After seeing all the videos of TikTok Oreo Mug Cake with two ingredients, I was intrigued and wanted to make it. It was almost impossible for me to make it, as I love Oreos the way they are. I also have a great mug cake recipe that’s super simple and delicious.
I did a taste test side-by-side. You will be shocked at the results! They will surprise you!!
My Oreo mug cake was a better choice. It was moister and more fluffy and tasted like cake. If you are desperate, the milk-only mug cake and Oreo were good. JK JK It tastes a lot like a dense chocolate cake. It was slightly molten in the middle.
What is a Mug Cake?
A mug cake refers to a cake that is baked in a microwave-safe mug. This is an excellent recipe for one serving, and it’s straightforward to make. Mug cakes can be used as treats, snacks, or desserts. Perhaps even in the morning. JK, please do not eat cakes for breakfast. Except if it’s coffee cake.
What is TikTok Oreo’s mug cake?
TikTok Oreo Mug Cake is a recipe for a mug cake that only requires two ingredients: Oreos, milk, and milk. You mix the Oreos with milk and then bake it. They are straightforward to make.
Tips and tricks for making mug cakes
- Never microwave mug cakes on a plate. If my mug cake is damaged, I don’t want to have to clean it out of the microwave.
- Microwave your cake for 1 minute, then continue to microwave for 10 seconds. My microwave works well for me. It takes 1 minute and 10 seconds.
- Use a microwave-safe mug.
- Make the milk-only mug cake by crushing your Oreos until it looks almost like flour.
What type of mug should you use?
My Oreo Mug Cake recipe calls for a mug large enough to hold between 1 and 3/4 cups of water. Measure 1 3/4 cups water into a measuring cup to determine if your profile can have this amount. Leave a little space at the top. You’re good to go if it fits.
You can use any cup for the Oreo or milk-only mug cake as long as it is not too small. You will get a slight rise from that mug cake, so you can use any mug that’s not espresso.
