HOMEMADE FREEZER GARLIC BREAD

Although I have made my garlic bread before, it is still delicious. But when will I ever need to eat a whole loaf? Although I could eat the whole loaf, it’s not something I would do. (Look at me as a responsible adult!) This Homemade Freezer Garlic Bread solves that problem. Make the garlic bread slices ahead of time and freeze them unbaked. They’ll be ready for you when you feel the need, just like the ones you can buy in a bag at the grocery store.

FREEZER GARLIC BREAD: WHAT IS SO AMAZING?

EVERYTHING. J/k, almost. This recipe is super easy to make, and you can have multiple servings ready in minutes. You can bake two or ten slices. You can also make the garlic butter topping yourself, which makes it easy to know what’s inside. This always makes me happy.

HOW LONG CAN GARLIC BREAD BE KEPT IN THE FREEZER?

My garlic bread is usually used within three months after being frozen. It’s just too good to last that long if we are honest. Frosted foods can experience a gradual decline in quality and taste while frozen. Therefore, you shouldn’t keep them for too long even though they are technically safe to eat.

HOMEMADE FREEZER GARLIC BREAD

You can make your own frozen garlic bread slices that you can bake whenever you need them. You can bake two to ten frozen slices at once, and they will be ready in minutes.

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 Tbsp salted Butter, Room Temperature ($1.04)
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil ($0.32)
  • 4 cloves minced garlic ($0.32)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder ($0.02)
  • 1/4 tsp salt ($0.02)
  • 1 Tbsp dried parsley ( $0.30)
  • 1 loaf of French bread ($1.00)

INSTRUCTIONS

  • In a large bowl, combine the butter, olive oils, minced garlic and garlic powder with the salt and parsley. Combine the ingredients until you have a smooth mixture.
  • Cut the French bread into slices of the 1-inch thickness (12-16 slices depending on the size). Spread 1/2 to 1 Tbsp garlic butter on each slice of bread. Place the bread slices on a baking tray and let them cool in the freezer for 30 minutes. For longer storage, place the garlic bread in a gallon-sized freezer bag. Keep the garlic bread in the freezer for up to 3 months.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees to bake the garlic bread slices frozen. After the oven has been preheated, remove as many frozen slices as you like and place them on a baking tray. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Wrap the garlic bread slices in foil before baking to get softer, crispier edges.

NOTES

*Baking time can vary depending on the bread type.
