Simple pan sauces are my life, even if I’ve already said it. These sauces are the fastest and easiest way to make a delicious meal from a single cut of meat. This 20-minute Honey Mustard Chicken is a great example. This sweet and tangy chicken can be made in 20 minutes using only a few ingredients you likely already have in your kitchen. Promise.
What is a Pan Sauce?
Pan sauces are the magical result of combining the juices and brown bits left over from cooking a piece of meat in a pan. There are so many flavours in the little bits left over, so don’t waste them!
You first need to “deglaze” the pan by removing any bits. Next, add some liquid (usually broth or wine) and herbs, spices, butter, or other ingredients for a creamy end. This 20 Minute Honey Mustard Chicken pan sauce is simple. I added honey and stone ground mustard to give it more body. This recipe is simple but delicious.
What kind of chicken can I use for honey mustard chicken?
Because they are tender and juicy, the chicken thighs were boneless and skinless. They also cook quickly and don’t require much preparation. However, boneless, skinless chicken breast can be used. It would be best to pound them to a 1/2-inch thickness before browning the pan. This will increase your prep time by about 5 minutes. Pan sauces made with bone-in or skin-on cuts are great for making, but they take longer to cook, so they’re not the best choice.
